How are study notes different from a textbook?

A textbook teaches a topic in full; study notes distil it into the few points you need to remember for the exam. Good notes are short, structured and revisable — you can review them repeatedly in the final weeks, which a textbook doesn't allow.

Should I make my own notes or use ready-made ones?

Making your own notes is one of the most effective study techniques because the act of summarising builds understanding. Ready-made notes are a useful reference and time-saver, but they work best when you rewrite the key points in your own words.

How do I turn study notes into marks?

By testing yourself on them. Reading notes creates familiarity, but answering questions creates recall. Pair every set of notes with the relevant topic tests in your exam's mock library so revision becomes retrieval practice.

Are there notes for regional-language papers?

Yes — for exams like TNPSC that are bilingual, language and general-studies notes should be prepared in the language you'll write in. Our TNPSC practice is fully bilingual in Tamil and English so your notes and your tests stay aligned.
