RPF Constable Mock Tests, Syllabus & Complete Exam Guide

RPF Constable is the Indian Railways' recruitment exam, conducted through the Railway Recruitment Boards, for the posts of Constable and Sub-Inspector in the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF). The RPF is the armed security force of the Indian Railways, charged with protecting railway property, passengers and the passenger area across the country's railway zones. Because it needs only a Class 10 qualification and offers a secure uniformed-services career, it attracts lakhs of young aspirants each drive.

The selection has three parts: a Computer Based Test (CBT), a Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Measurement Test (PET/PMT), and document verification. The CBT is a 90-minute, 120-question paper across three sections — General Awareness, Arithmetic and General Intelligence & Reasoning — set at matriculation level. Because it has a one-third negative mark and is speed-based, accuracy under time is what decides your CBT score, and the CBT score is what decides final merit.

General Awareness carries the most questions (50 of 120), so it is the highest-return section — build static GK across polity, history, geography, science, railways and current affairs steadily over time. Arithmetic and Reasoning are the most scoreable with practice: drill percentage, ratio, interest, speed, time and work, mensuration, analogy, series, coding-decoding, blood relations and direction until they are quick and automatic.

Because every wrong answer costs a third of a mark, disciplined attempting matters: solve what you know quickly and avoid blind guesses. Full-length timed mocks build the stamina and section-balance the 90-minute paper demands, and after the CBT, consistent running and physical practice prepares you for the PET and the height/chest measurements of the PMT.
