What is NMAT by GMAC?
NMAT by GMAC is a national MBA entrance examination owned and administered by the Graduate Management Admission Council, the body behind the GMAT. It is the primary entrance test for NMIMS (Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies), Mumbai, and is also accepted by a wide network of other leading business schools across India for admission to their MBA and PGDM programmes.
The test has three sections — Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning — with about 108 questions to be completed in two hours. Two features set it apart: candidates choose the order in which they attempt the sections, and there is no negative marking, so every question is worth attempting. Scores are scaled and reported as percentiles, and candidates may take the exam more than once within the testing window, with the best score counting.
