SSC GD Constable Mock Tests, Syllabus & Complete Exam Guide

SSC GD Constable is the Staff Selection Commission's recruitment exam for the post of Constable (General Duty) in the Central Armed Police Forces — the BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP and SSB — as well as the Assam Rifles, the Secretariat Security Force, the NIA and as a Sepoy in the Narcotics Control Bureau. It is one of India's largest recruitment exams by number of applicants, because it needs only a Class 10 qualification and offers a secure uniformed-services career to lakhs of young aspirants each year.

The selection has three parts: a Computer Based Test (CBT), a Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Standard Test (PET/PST), and a Detailed Medical Examination. The CBT is a 60-minute, 80-question paper across four equal sections — Reasoning, General Knowledge & Awareness, Elementary Mathematics and English/Hindi — set at matriculation level. Because it has negative marking and is speed-based, accuracy under time is what decides your CBT score, and the CBT score is what decides final merit.

The CBT is Class-10 level, so the exam rewards speed and accuracy on familiar material rather than advanced knowledge. Reasoning and Elementary Mathematics are the most scoreable — practise analogy, series, coding-decoding, percentage, ratio, interest and basic mensuration until they are quick and automatic. General Awareness is high-return and stable: build static GK — polity, history, geography, science and sports — steadily over time.

English (or Hindi) rewards basic grammar, vocabulary and comprehension. Because every wrong answer costs half a mark, disciplined attempting matters: solve what you know quickly and avoid blind guesses. Full-length timed mocks build the stamina and section-balance the 60-minute paper demands, and after the CBT, consistent running and physical practice prepares you for the PET/PST.
