About the RRB NTPC exam

Recruits Indian Railways' non-technical posts — Station Master, Goods Train Manager, Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist (graduate level), and Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Clerk cum Typist and Trains Clerk (undergraduate level).

RRB NTPC 2026 (CEN 06/2026 and 07/2026)

The RRBs' short notice of 21 September 2026 announced 5,165 posts: 3,477 graduate-level posts under CEN 06/2026 (applications 8 October – 6 November 2026) and 1,688 undergraduate-level posts under CEN 07/2026 (applications 15 October – 13 November 2026). Applications are made on rrbapply.gov.in.

The previous cycle is still finishing: CEN 06/2025 (5,810 graduate posts) held CBT 1 from 16 to 27 March 2026 and CBT 2 in July 2026, and is now at the CBAT and typing-test stage; CEN 07/2025 (3,058 undergraduate posts) held CBT 1 in May and June 2026 and CBT 2 on 17 September 2026.

How these mocks help

General Awareness is the biggest CBT 1 section, so each mock spreads its 40 GA questions across history, geography, polity, economy, science, static GK, computers and current affairs, alongside 30 Maths and 30 Reasoning questions with −1/3 marking.

The mocks open in Hindi and give a full result with section-wise analysis. The 25 mocks never share a question.

Eligibility criteria

Graduate posts
A bachelor's degree from a recognised university (Junior Account Assistant and Senior Clerk also need typing proficiency in English or Hindi).
Undergraduate posts
Class 12 (10+2) pass; typist posts also need typing proficiency. Results-awaited candidates are not eligible.
Age
Under the 2025 notices: 18–33 years for graduate posts and 18–30 for undergraduate posts, with 5 years' relaxation for SC/ST, 3 for OBC (NCL) and 10 for PwBD. Check the 2026 notices for the exact cut-off date.
CBAT
Station Master and Traffic Assistant candidates must score a T-score of at least 42 in each test battery of the computer-based aptitude test; scribes are not allowed in the CBAT.

The first 12 weeks

A plan a fresher can actually follow

  1. Month 1

    Understand the paper and build your base

    Read the official pattern first, then make a realistic subject map for 3 subjects. Begin with सामान्य जागरूकता (General Awareness), गणित (Mathematics), सामान्य बुद्धि एवं तर्क (General Intelligence & Reasoning). Focus on concepts before speed.

    Take one diagnostic topic test. Its purpose is to find gaps, not to judge your score.
  2. Month 2

    Finish the core syllabus through practice

    Cover the remaining syllabus, while revising Month 1 every week. Move from untimed questions to short timed sets.

    Keep a single error log: concept missed, why it happened and the correct method.
  3. Month 3

    Build exam temperament with mocks

    Use the real exam time limit (90 minutes (CBT 1)) in full-length practice. Review every mock longer than it took to attempt it; the review is where improvement happens.

    Turn each weak area from your error log into a 30–45 minute repair session.

    General Awareness decides the screening

    40 of 100 questions in CBT 1 and 50 of 120 in CBT 2 — cover static GK, polity, science and a year of current affairs.

    Make arithmetic fast

    Percentages, ratio, interest, time & work and mensuration make up most of the Maths section.

  3. 3

    Lock in Reasoning

    Series, coding, syllogism, relations and directions are the most predictable marks.

    Mind the negative marking

    A wrong answer costs 1/3 mark; skip questions you can only guess.

    Plan for CBT 2 and the skill tests

    CBT 2 decides merit; Station Master aspirants also need the CBAT, and typist posts a typing test.

Revise your short notes and error log; do not begin major new topics.

Take only the number of mocks you can properly review; protect sleep and routine.
