The Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) is the state-level teacher eligibility test conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (BSER), Ajmer. It certifies whether a candidate is eligible to be appointed as a teacher in the government schools of Rajasthan. Like the national CTET, REET is an eligibility test — clearing it does not itself give a job, but it is a mandatory qualification to apply for Rajasthan's teacher recruitment.

REET is held at two levels. Level 1 is for those who want to teach primary classes (Classes 1 to 5) as a primary teacher, and Level 2 is for upper primary classes (Classes 6 to 8) as an upper primary teacher. Each level is a single 150-mark paper of 150 objective questions answered in 2 hours 30 minutes, covering Child Development & Pedagogy, two languages, and Mathematics with Environmental Studies (Level 1) or a subject stream (Level 2). There is no negative marking, so accuracy and coverage matter more than guessing strategy.

Qualifying REET earns a certificate at Level 1, Level 2 or both, with the qualifying percentage (usually around 60%) relaxed for reserved categories. That certificate is the gateway to the Rajasthan 3rd Grade Teacher recruitment, where selection is made on merit that combines REET performance with the recruitment process. So REET is best seen as the eligibility and scoring foundation on which the actual teaching appointment is built.
