What is the FCI Manager (Category II) exam?
FCI Manager (Category II) is the Food Corporation of India's recruitment exam for Manager posts across several cadres — General, Depot, Movement, Accounts, Technical, Civil Engineering and Electrical & Mechanical Engineering. These managers run the machinery that procures foodgrain at the Minimum Support Price, stores it in warehouses and depots, maintains the national buffer stock and moves grain into the public distribution system, so the role sits at the heart of India's food-security system.
The selection has multiple stages: an online Phase I screening test, a Phase II main test whose pattern depends on the cadre, and an interview or training stage for some posts. Phase I is a 120-minute, 120-question paper across four equal sections — Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language and General Studies & Current Affairs. Because it has negative marking and is speed-based, accuracy under time is what decides whether you clear the screening and reach Phase II.
