City slip and e-call letter
The city intimation slip shows your exam city and date, not your centre. RRBs release it about nine to ten days before each exam date, so candidates with later dates get theirs a little later. The e-call letter (admit card), which has your centre address and reporting time, is released about four days before your exam. Download both only from your own RRB's official website.
The pattern in brief
The CBT is scored out of 100. Each correct answer earns 1 mark and each wrong answer costs one-third of a mark. Grade I Signal and Grade III have separate papers, but both test mathematics, reasoning, general science and general awareness. The Grade III paper leans more on basic science and the technical side of trades. After the CBT come document verification and a medical examination, both qualifying.
A plan for the last week
- Take one full mock every day at the real 90-minute length, and review it the same evening.
- General science scores well in railway papers. Revise Class 10 physics (units, motion, electricity, light), chemistry (acids and bases, metals, carbon compounds) and biology (human body systems).
- In maths, stick to the fast chapters: percentage, ratio, time and work, simplification and mensuration formulas.
- For general awareness, revise railway-specific facts and current affairs from the last six months.
- With −1/3 per wrong answer, three wrong guesses cancel out one correct answer. Guess only when you can rule out at least two options.
Exam-day checklist
- A printed e-call letter and the original photo ID you entered in the application.
- Reach the centre well before the reporting time. Biometric checks take time and the gates close on schedule.
- Leave watches, phones and bags at home or outside. Nothing electronic is allowed in the hall.
Key takeaways
- The RRB Technician CBT (CEN 02/2026) runs from 6 to 9 October 2026.
- City slips come about 9–10 days before your date, and e-call letters about 4 days before.
- Scoring is +1 / −1/3. Spend the last week on full mocks and Class 10 science.
