Documents to keep ready
- Your Class 10 certificate. The name and date of birth on your form must match it exactly.
- Class 12 details (board, roll number and year), or confirmation that you are appearing in 2027.
- A valid photo ID, and your identity details exactly as they appear on it.
- A category certificate (OBC-NCL or EWS) in the current format and within its validity period, if you claim one.
- A PwD certificate, if it applies to you.
- A recent photo and signature, scanned to the sizes the bulletin specifies.
Form mistakes that cause trouble later
- Spelling your name differently from your Class 10 certificate. It causes problems at counselling and document verification.
- Choosing exam cities in a hurry. You usually get to pick four, so choose ones you can actually reach early in the morning.
- Using an email or phone number that a coaching centre or a relative controls. All NTA communication goes there.
- Waiting for the last day. The portal slows down and payment failures pile up near the deadline.
Use the next four months well
Session 1 is less than four months away. Finish any remaining Class 12 chapters by mid-November, then switch to full-length mocks on a computer, since JEE Main is a computer-based test. Our JEE Main 2027 Session 1 guide has the week-by-week plan.
Key takeaways
- JEE Main 2027 Session 1: 22–24 and 28–30 January 2027, with 31 January as a buffer day.
- Registration is expected later in October 2026 on jeemain.nta.nic.in.
- Keep your Class 10 certificate, ID, category certificate and scanned photo and signature ready now.
