The chart below shows the percentage of households in a city that owned a car, a computer and a smartphone in the years 2005, 2012 and 2019. Car ownership: 2005 – 62%, 2012 – 66%, 2019 – 64%. Computer ownership: 2005 – 45%, 2012 – 70%, 2019 – 78%. Smartphone ownership: 2005 – 5%, 2012 – 48%, 2019 – 92%. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Examiner tips

Write an overview sentence describing the biggest trends — do not list every number.
Group data logically (e.g. what rose sharply vs. what stayed flat).
Use varied comparison language: rose sharply, remained stable, overtook, more than doubled.

Coherence & Cohesion — my ideas are logically ordered into paragraphs with linking words.
